What tools and software will I need to run a succesful computer repair small business?

I will be going to residential homes for on site computer repairs. Most software has a limit to how many times you can install. Will I need to purchase a liscense for installing virus software and windows software on individual computers that I work on, so that I am able to use it multiple times?

Do they use a common server open source software like sendmail, exim, or do they custom build their own? How do they send so many emails?

Fax machine – files recieved directly to the computer, not email, what software is there?

Is there any software that would allow faxes from a DELL fax machine to send directly to my computer? (Pdf files)
I don’t want to send faxes, i just want to know of available software that would convert them so i don’t have to print them, but sort through them on my computer.

How do I connect my Email software to my SMTP server?

Alright, in another thread a couple of minutes ago I asked about emails in my outbox. apparantely they’ve not been sent because my Email software is not connected to my SMTP server. I use MSN. So how could I connect the two? Thank you.
